The Best Four Dollars We May Ever Raise

Michael and I just got back to our apartment from a whirlwind weekend in Omaha, Nebraska. Apparently, the weather was beautiful here while it snowed in Nebraska, and we returned to cold winds here as Nebraska warms to seventy degrees tomorrow. Go figure!

We had a super visit to Christ Community Church at the Sarpy campus. The wonderful Steve Walters let us take a few minutes at the start of the service to give a crash course on Trans World Radio, as well as where and how God has called us into ministry. It was great to see familiar faces in an exciting new place, and it was wonderful to meet new people who came to speak with us at our TWR table.

The highlight of the weekend was a second-grader named Kari. After the first service, she came up to me with her dad and had a small wad of dollar bills in her hand. She said she wanted to make an offering, and proudly handed me a full two weeks' allowance. I have a feeling that we are going to be hard-pressed to find a more sacrificial, meaningful example of God's soviergnty to provide and move powerfully in unexpected places. What a blessing for the very first money we raised to come from such an earnest giver like Kari. Her gift is a special reminder of how God has promised to surprise us with His goodness if we are faithful to His calling. We're thanking God for the giving heart of Kari!
